Credit Crunch Help

It seems that during credit crunch employees are feeling it all. We have been advising companies about providing areas for rest and relaxation for quite a while. An employee spends most of the day, or the week, at work. S/he should not be feeling alienated. We all know that we start the day better when we have a good night sleep. Massage at work does the same thing: it helps us feeling better, and consequentially work better. Sometimes as little as 10/15 minutes on site massage (fully clothed) at work can relieve the stress and help you focus more for the rest of the day. At London Serenity we provide professional massage straight to your office (or to your home if you prefer), to help you relax, clear your mind and lighten your heart from all the worries.

2- massage at home is more convenient: after your therapeutic massage, there is no need to get dressed and go home, you can just relax in your own comfort zone

Massage Benefits

Massage Benefits

Massage has been considered beneficial for more than 5000 years. It was used in the Far East to recover from illnesses as well as by Romans and Greeks to help injured warriors to recuperate faster. Massage is composed of different techniques, from kneading to effleurage, from petrissage to cupping. The therapist chooses the most appropriate movements to be applied to the body, accordingly to the client’s need. Usually massage engages two types of reactions: mechanical responses as a result of pressure and movement as the soft tissues are manipulated, and reflex responses in which the nerves respond to stimulation.

Here are some of the most well known benefits of massage therapy:

Massage enhances flexibility of the muscles due to muscular relaxation; Furthermore, it improves muscle tone and balance, reducing the physical stress placed on the bones and joints. It increases blood circulation bringing more oxygen and nutrients into the muscle. This lessens muscle fatigue and soreness. It promotes swift elimination of toxins and waste products from the muscle.

In addition, massage helps decrease oedema by increasing lymphatic drainage and the elimination of waste from the system. Also, regular massage may help strengthen the immune system, due to an increase in white blood cells. Massage stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping promote relaxation and decreasing stress. It stimulates sensory receptors: this can either excite or soothe nerves depending on the techniques used.

Massage can result in improved elasticity of the skin, vaso-dilation of the surface capillaries helping to improve the skin’s colour, enhanced circulation to the skin, improved nutrition to the cells and encouraging cell regeneration. Massage can generate a feeling of well-being and improved self-esteem, endorse the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, which stimulates digestion, and diminish stress and anxiety by relaxing both mind and body.
